Principles of
Mutual Aid
-
Mutual aid is abolitionist: no policing of each other. The systems are to blame, not the people.
-
We center folks affected by oppressive systems, who know what they need.
-
Direct cash giving is most effective.
-
Everyone has something to offer.
-
Everyone has something they need.
-
We are accountable to the community while keeping recipients completely anonymous.
-
We network & collaborate with others doing mutual aid & community care.
-
We learn as we go; perfectionism is not welcome here.
